Pierre Rabie has a day job as an advocate in Cape Town. Most of his weekends are spent near Baardskeerdersbos (a village a few kms inland from Pearly Beach), where he, Robert Stelzner and Karen van Helden, have a small winery – The Giant Periwinkle.  They are particularly proud of their Blanc Fumés. Their 2017, 2018 and 2019 vintages will be the focus of the tasting. With a special surprise, or two.  The 2019 was voted No 2 in SA in the Wooded White Category for 2020 by Winemag / Prescient   https://giantperiwinkle.co.za/uncategorized/the-best-white-wines-of-2020-by-christian-eedes-7-december-2020/

Hannes Meyer joined Lomond in 2018 and already clinched a 2019 FNB Sauvignon Blanc Top 10 award for their Lomond Sauvignon Blanc 2019. Hannes graduated with a BSc Agri degree specialising in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Stellenbosch, after which his winemaking skills were honed at various prominent wine estates in the Cape Winelands. One of the greatest gratifications to him as a winemaker is to see how a wine develops from the grapes, in their most pure and natural form, with each bottle depicting the unique attributes of the terroir and the winemaker’s taste for perfection.  Hannes will present some of Lomond’s wooded whites.

Trevor DeRuisé had a successful career as a professional mountain-biker based in Los Angeles (during which he managed to fit in some winemaking on the side). However, about 3 years ago he came to South Africa to help with a harvest, and ended up staying on. The core values of Lost Boy Wines: * Life isn’t a race * Nature is all of our greatest asset * A life just committed to oneself isn’t much of a life!    Trevor will share his wooded MCC and Blanc Fumé.
